Everything since the LP400 has been a downward trend.
If I could have an LP400 and a Series I/II Espada life would be good.
All downhill from here.

What’s the name for the blue color on the first one? Need to know for reasons.

I disagree. The ground effect package of the LP5000 made the wheels feel so much less of an afterthought design wise. The LP400's openings feel like they came up with a spaceship design then whipped out some scissors to make room for the wheels.

Agreed!

Disagree, I think the Aventador is the most Lambo of Lambos ever made. It’s like a caricature of itself. It also incidentally is a great car, unlike pretty much any pre-2000 Lambo.

I’m partial to the later, fully coked-out, versions.

Not a fan at first, but I gotta say the Huracan has really grown on me

It’s just angles for the sake of angles. Edgy, angry, and only just now achieving anything.

Absolutely awful

The only good winged Countach is the Walter Wolf car:
LP400 + black flares + wing. The body kits on the later cars look horrendous.

The only reason you buy a Huracan is to impress women but you really only impress 12 year old boys.

You saying this doesn’t look good???
LOL
![]() 05/17/2020 at 01:06 |

I disagree. The coolest Lambo is always the one in front of you, a basic tenet of the look they go for.

I’ll walk past a post Countach Lamborghini like it’s a Camry. I couldn’t care less about them if I tried.

Yikes

The LP400 is breathtaking in person, and one of my favourite designs of all time. I enjoy
the later ones
for the sheer ridiculousness, but they aren’t truly striking like the LP400.

Are we just going to pretend the Diablo doesn't exist?

Say what you want about the wings, but those US bumpers are the true war crime
.

Cars have just come so far since the Countach. Even Lamborghini can’t really one-up itself like they did back then. They made a LOT of Huracans and dealers are having trouble selling them.

Every Diablo I’ve ever seen in person looks like it was assembled by a drunk and blind toddler out of Fisher Price plastics.

Ah, but you see, the rare girl you do find that is impressed by it, you will likely get lucky with.

Yeah, and? 6.0 V12, manual transmission, rear wheel drive, exactly as the gods intended.
![]() 05/17/2020 at 01:53 |

Well, the 6.0 was AWD. Only the early, pre-VT models, the SE30, and SV were RWD.
But yes, the Diablo is my favorite car, and naturally my favorite Lamborghini. An early, RWD, wingless Diablo is not only perfection in my book, but its looks are downright tame and classy AF compared to all the overwrought designs of today.

As if the Countach doesn’t also have that... and Webbers.

If you think the Diablo had poor b uild quality, apparently you've never seen a Countach...

The accompanying STD won’t feel lucky.

agree - they really should consider doing a Balboni version
![]() 05/17/2020 at 02:17 |

The Diablo is the car the Murcielago was always trying to be. Diablo perfected the Lamborghini formula. Aventador is a cartoon car.
![]() 05/17/2020 at 02:59 |

To be fair, the Aventador is nearly 9 years old.
![]() 05/17/2020 at 03:22 |

Literally the only thing that the Countach does well is looking good.
![]() 05/17/2020 at 04:51 |

but
that’s true for nearly all
“cool”
cars.
![]() 05/17/2020 at 05:10 |

I’ve never seen that before. That is incredible - the best of old and new.
05/17/2020 at 07:36 |

The late bodykit doesn’t do it for me either but early Countaches seem to be missing something 5000 QV (and Walter Wolf) are the peak Countach for me, wing and flares but no sideskirts.
Espada would be nice but I also have a thing for Bob Wallace special Jarama and Urraco.
And 400GT Flying Star if we go old Lamborghini.

The gearboxes can be a bit dodgy, but it otherwise is daily driver reliable and useable. They are such great cars. That is why I’d drive an LP400. Every Aventador and Huracan I have driven felt more like an input device, and less like a driver’s car. I’d even take a manual Gallardo over a Huracan, and a Diablo SV over an Aventador. It feels special to drive the tractor- like LP400, not so much the newer cars.

Blu Tahiti Metallic . PPG code 2463739/21585. Though it can get confused with Light Blue PPG code 154922 or Blu Metallic PPG code 2463643 . The difference is easier to see in person. Bl u Tahiti Metallic is much lighter than the other two in the sun, and it was more common the light blue or blu metallic.

Gotta be the sv. Not that I'm being an elitist with the drivetrain, but the bumper treatment and the roof scoops look so much better IMO. Not a huge fan of the headlights on the diablo 2.0 either.

The only Diablo I’ve seen in person as an adult is the fixed headlight version. Saw this one at VIR last summer.

Very related is this opinion, which has not changed.

I’ve only been up close to a Diablo once, at my repair shop. C
an testify for this.

One would tend to have more luck with a Wrangler or a Porsche Macan.
Most women just view cars as tools and don’t really think too much over
a lump of noisy metal, no matter how special it is to the C&C crowd
.

This makes me want to see one up close even more.
